A Read Receipt confirms that the message sent from your account was viewed by the recipient. There is no way to force a recipient to send a read receipt.

 

How to enable Read Receipt in our Email Architecture.

1. Login to the Webmail Interface i.e. http://webmail.yourdomain.tld

2. Click on the Compose button in the Mailbox.

3. At the time of mail composition, you will locate "OPTIONS" next to signatures.

4. Click on Options and select Request Read Receipt.

Please note read receipt can only be enabled during email composition in the Webmail interface. This only sends a read receipt request. It is dependent on the receiving end to handle such requests and send a notification back.

The "Show requests for read receipts" option available in the Webmail Interface -> Settings -> Mail is to give customers an option if they want to notify the sender that the email has been read. If they have this option enabled then read receipt is not sent until the customer clicks on Send Read receipt option while reading the email.
